With Follow Us, it is very simple to add the URL addresses to your social media accounts and have them show up on your website with the corresponding icons.

First, you want to enter the URLs in the Follow Us settings form. These URLs are global and will be shown on your entire website.

Second, move the Follow Us block in the block section of your choice if the left side-bar section is not appropriate for your theme.

The Social Media Ping system is set up to work with your Blog pages. This means you will see the Ping.fm icon at the bottom of your Blog pages and when editing them, you will see a Ping.fm settings box (assuming you provided a Ping.fm key.)

You may change which type of pages are assigned Ping.fm. This means you can assign the feature to more pages, different pages or even all your pages.

If you do not have and do not want to create a Ping.fm account, then mark this task as finished and forget about it. Snap! lets you write posts with an editor running locally on your computer. Such editors connect to your blog and send the finished post once ready. This is called Remote Blogging.

FireFox, Chrome and Safari users can download ScribeFire. Once installed, it opens in your browser and lets you edit your blog posts in real time, which is really nice. You can keep your posts on your computers as drafts. Once a post is ready for publishing, you can send it to your blog. All that is required for the editor to send your post to your blog is your log in name and your password.

We talked about the FCKeditor toolbar before.

The editor lets you include images by clicking on , the FCKeditor Image Icon. Now that you purchased a Snap! hosting service, you can use the icon to upload images on our server (see the Browse Server button in the image editor.) In other words, it will look like those images come from the same place as your content.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Having your images on the same server as your content is generally considered much better by Search Engines. Plus, this ensures that your website works for as long as you want to keep it.

You may have noticed that each time you post a new journal it gets stamped with the creation date.

That date may not look right, depending on your time zone and country. By default, the time zone is set to UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) and the date uses the US format.

In order to move your website to a different time zone and switch to a different date format, go to your Date & Time settings.

Note that by default your website lets your users (other than the Anonymous users) choose their own time zone. This means they will see your dates and times corresponding
